Are bird feeders a good idea?

Bird feeders………well, they feed birds but are they a good idea? They give birds food but couldn’t they also make birds more lazy by relying on a person providing them food? There’s also the chance that younger birds won’t/have a smaller chance of being taught how to catch worms.

I’m not talking about pet birds.

What you’ll mainly attract in town are house sparrows with a mix of other birds, try the cone shaped preformed seed feeders they’re more work to get at and don’t let the little moochers eat too much at once. I put them out when the weathers bad and there’s nothing else for them to eat, when it’s nice out let them fend for themselves.

The better nutrients they feed off of it for the simple fact that love watching the more good foods they feed im sure most adult birds come and find other bugs and got.

yes. they’re a good idea. it’s nice to see birds out the window and see how many different birds are actually out there.
don’t worry, they insticually know how to find other food sources.
however, they do say if you’re going to have one or some to leave it there year round and not take it down in the winter.

I don’t feed wild birds in the summer when food is abundant. I feed in the winter only.

The white poop all the birds but in summer take them down cause of all the birds but in summer take them down cause of all over.

Bird feeders are great both summer and winter. Winter helps when no food can be found. Summer is great to have the birds in the back yard to eat the unwanted mosquito’s.Here in Alaska we have to empty the feeders in the spring because they become bear feeders. Feed on.
