I have put up a bird feeder and I have a cat stalking it?

I love animals and I dont want to hurt this cat, heck I put up the bird feeder for my cats to watch birds, they love it. But……this big old grey cat hunts it, he took a little red finch out the other day. I saw it, just disgusted me! I don’t want to ‘bait’ the birds but I love having my bird feeder…help! How can I get rid of this cat without hurting him?
Just so you know I am not baiting the birds. Also, the feeder is on a wooden pole cemented into the ground and stands just about 5 feet tall.

Maybe you can trap him and get him declawed?

Call animal control–meanwhile it is not really ethical to put out a baited trap (for the birds).

The bird feeder up high enough he cant get to it or call the cat in cage and have him taken to the animal control people out and have him taken to it or call the cat in cage and have him taken to the animal shelter.

The feeder on hanging from trees is bad idea.
The feeder on clothesline or something else cats dont go up on clothesline or something else cats dont go up.

get a bb gun, use like 2 pumps and shoot the cat in the butt. pretty soon they wont bother the birds. the bb wont hurt too bad, just a stinging like a wasp or bee.
